Maxwell Spanish Immersion Elementary School is a public magnet school in Lexington, Kentucky that serves students in grades K–5. The school's academic team recently had a big win when they came in first in Region 20 of the state-wide Governor's Cup 2024 competition. They also won the Quick Recall part of the contest. Maxwell Spanish Immersion Elementary School came in first place, by beating out other schools in the particular region, according to the official statements. This achievement shows how strong the school's academic culture is and the admiration are performing in the school , especially since it has a bilingual immersion framework where students learn in both English and Spanish. In addition to doing well in competitions, the school is still known for its overall proficiency. Recent data show that Maxwell students were about 58% proficient in both math and reading/language arts, which is much higher than the state average. The school is also in the top 20% of elementary schools in Kentucky. Maxwell is a lively learning community with momentum because of its strong academic results, a dedicated immersion program, and competitive team successes.
