Latest News

Northern Elementary School has been more involved with the community in the last few months by accepting several classroom projects funded by the nonprofit DonorsChoose platform. Recent data shows that the school has successfully funded more than 50 projects led by teachers. These projects included upgrading technology, buying books for the classroom, and planning fun activities. These projects show that there is a growing interest in giving students more learning tools and experiences outside of the regular curriculum. Northern Elementary is working to get students more involved and improve their grades by having a student-teacher ratio of 12:1 and a new wave of hands-on teaching support. The school's math and reading proficiency rates (27% and 25%, respectively) show that there is room for improvement, but the school's growing resources and strong community involvement suggest that students will do better in the future.
