Being Updated
The Covington Board of Education has approved a major study to find out what Ninth District Elementary School's future role will be, which has brought the school back into the public eye. The district has approved a $25,000 architectural study to look into the possibility of turning the school into an early childhood center. This review is part of a bigger plan for the school's facilities that started after people in the community were worried that the school might close.
At the same time, the district is asking families to help choose the next leaders. Parents, students, and staff are being asked what they want to see in the next superintendent through community meetings and surveys. Families are being asked to take part so that their opinions are heard in the decision-making process.
These changes are a big deal for Ninth District Elementary because they are getting a lot of community input on its long-term goals and the direction of the district's leadership.
