The latest news od Latonia Elementart school is Kevin Knoll will be the new principal of Latonia Elementary School starting on July 1, 2025. Knoll takes over for Maranda Meyer, who is moving to a job with the Kentucky Department of Education. Knoll has worked as a science teacher, football coach, and assistant principal. He has a student-centered philosophy and is very dedicated to helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Covington Schools Board is also working on a big plan that focuses on Latonia Elementary. This is largest plan of the district to modernize its buildings, the board has agreed to a study to look into long-term options for the school building, such as renovation, expansion, or replacement. This move shows that the community is putting money into making schools better.

This is the updates of all point to a time of renewal and planning for the future at Latonia Elementary, with changes in leadership and an evaluation of the school's infrastructure both happening.
