Being Updated
As per recent news, On Veterans Day, all the student's and staff's gathered in the school gym for a special assembly led by the "We the People" club, which talked about service and sacrifice. There were speeches at the event that talked about how important freedom is and how much the people who have served in the U.S Armed Forces mean to us. A guest speaker told the audience that "freedom is not free," which made students think about how veterans' actions affect their lives today to serve the nation. Teachers said this event helped connect civic learning with personal reflection by getting students to think about how gratitude and service are connected to their daily lives. The assembly also invited veterans from the community and told young people to think about how service is important in their own families. This kind of programming shows how dedicated the school is to teaching students about citizenship and getting involved in their communities. It gives students a chance to learn something new outside of school.
