Mayflower Mill Elementary School is a public school in Lafayette, Indiana that serves grades K–5 as part of the Tippecanoe School Corporation. There are about 568 students at the school and about 38 full-time classroom teachers, which gives a student-teacher ratio of about 15:1. Mayflower Mill Elementary focuses on basic reading and writing skills, as well as STEM activities, and has programs for gifted and talented students. The student body is moderately diverse, with about 55% White, 25% Black, 13% Hispanic, and the rest Asian or multiracial. About 62.7% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, which means that a large number of them come from families with low incomes. According to recent test results, about 45% of students were good at math and about 35% were good at English/language arts (ELA) on the state's ILEARN test. The amount of money spent on each student is about $7,500, which is a little less than the state average. The school is in a stable suburban area of Lafayette and gets a lot of support from the community and the neighborhood. In general, Mayflower Mill Elementary does a good job of keeping a good student-teacher ratio and offering structured academic programs. The school is a good place for students to learn, even though their proficiency levels could be better.

Being Updated
In April 2025, Mayflower Mill Elementary held its annual STEM Fair. Students from all grades showed off projects they had worked on, like building simple machines and doing creative coding experiments. People from the community and families came to see how well the students could solve problems and think outside the box. The goal of the event was to get kids interested in science and technology, work together, and ask questions. Teachers said that the students were excited and creative, and that many of their projects were based on what they learned in class and on their own. The STEM Fair at Mayflower Mill Elementary shows that the school is committed to giving students fun and interesting ways to learn and encouraging them to think critically in a friendly and helpful environment.
