Being Updated
In early 2025, Edgelea Elementary School in Lafayette, Indiana, threw a party to honor teacher Amy Freeman for winning the Golden Apple Award for Greater Lafayette teachers. Freeman was honored for working with students who speak more than one language and for making the school a place where language diversity is valued. She was in charge of starting a dual-language immersion program that helped students get better at both their language skills and their schoolwork. This award shows that Edgelea Elementary cares about being involved in the community, coming up with new ideas, and making sure that all students can learn.
