Being Updated
In August 2025, Summit Elementary School honored Ashley Sotomayor, one of its best teachers, with a "Outstanding Educator" award from the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. This award shows how dedicated the school is to supporting strong teaching and getting involved in the community. The school is still working on dual-language immersion and social-emotional learning programs, which is why they are getting this award. By putting the spotlight on great staff, Summit Elementary shows that it is still committed to both academic growth and working together with the community.
