The new Director of the NCI/Starved Rock Region Leadership Community team toured the La Salle-Peru Area Career Ctr's Peru campus in May 2025, noting more collaboration with the Starved Rock Association for Vocational and Technical Education at Illinois Valley Community College. The 9th Street center still offers dual credit courses and industry certifications in trades, health sciences and technology for juniors and seniors from LaSalle-Peru Township High School. Students have participated in Illinois Valley Building Trades career fairs, where 275 students from 12 district high schools have participated in hands-on activities with 14 different trade unions.
