Author Allan Woodrow was at Spencer Crossing Intermediate School on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, as part of the school’s monthly calendar of events. The session was led by Woodrow, a children’s author from the Chicago area with more than 30 published books including The Curse of the Werepenguin, Class Dismissed and The Pet War. He talked about his switch from advertising to writing, his creative process, and the value of reading, revision and confronting self-doubt. The visit also featured a 45 to 50 minute interactive Q&A which allowed students to engage directly on storytelling and character development.
