Being Updated
Nelson Ridge School has set its Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) testing for April 8-14, 2026, and the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) for fifth grade students April 20-22. These activities took place after the school’s spring break, when classes resumed on April 7, and before a Teacher’s Institute day on April 24, 2026, when no classes were held for students.
Q1. How does Nelson Ridge School handle transitions throughout the day?
Ans. The students mostly stay in one classroom, so the transitions are easier and not as many as in schools with multiple class changes.
Q2. How does student support look in the classroom?
Ans. Teachers provide individualized attention, often collaborating with special education staff to ensure that all students receive the necessary resources and accommodations.
Q3. How are assignments done at Nelson Ridge School?
Ans. Work is well explained and often done in class so students do not have too many separate tasks to do at home.
Q4. How is the school environment for students here?
Ans. The environment is calming and structured with clear expectations and a defined pace for the day.
Q5. Who usually benefits the most from Nelson Ridge School?
Ans. This setting may provide more security for students who require routines and a lot of teacher attention.
