The Board of Education for School District U-46 and the District U-46 Educational Assistants (DUEA) union have recently reached an agreement on a new four-year contract. This agreement, which covers paraeducators across the district including those at Ellis Middle School, enhances working conditions, provides expanded professional development, and adjusts compensation structures through the 2028-29 school year. Additionally, the district continues to move forward with its Unite U-46 capital initiative, which includes the renaming of a new middle school to Legacy Middle School.
