Wacker Elem School was excited to host a very special, incredibly inspiring and widely attended school-wide educational assembly on Wednesday morning with a highly acclaimed, award-winning local author. She read with passion several engrossing chapters aloud from her newest and much anticipated children’s fantasy novel and answered many thoughtful questions from the rapt student audience. Also, all happy students were given a beautiful, customized, hand-signed bookmark to take home as a wonderful lasting reminder of this uniquely special and inspiring literary event.
Q1. Does Wacker Elem School have a gifted and talented program?
Ans. Ans: For students who want a bit more challenge during the day, we have accelerated math and reading groups.
Q2. How does Wacker Elem School reach busy working parents?
Ans. Teachers will send out a weekly email newsletter and also use a text app for quick daily important updates.
Q3. Are kids allowed to bring their own laptops to Wacker Elem School?
Ans. Please keep personal tablets and laptops safe at home as we provide all of the necessary equipment for the children.
Q4. Do they teach cursive writing at Wacker Elem School?
Ans. Yes. In third grade they learn to read and write in basic cursive letters for a couple months.
Q5. What is the Wacker Elementary School playground rule?
Ans. The equipment is to be shared and hands are to stay off, and the kids have to line up fast when the whistle blows loud.
