Volta Elem School competitive chess club proudly participated and fiercely competed over the busy weekend in a massive, highly challenging city-wide strategic board game tournament. Our dedicated student athletes practiced hard and long for many months in preparation for the much-anticipated, high-profile intellectual sporting event. Everybody had a great time pitting their advanced strategic skills against some very tough regional competition and ultimately walked away with several shiny and well-deserved championship trophies to proudly display in the main office.
Q1. What equipment does Volta Elem School Gym have?
Ans. We have a big gym with ropes to climb, basketball hoops and lots of soft mats to tumble on.
Q2. Does Volta Elem School provide additional help for reading difficulties?
Ans. Yes, we have special reading teachers who work with small groups to help them catch up fast.
Q3. When do the parent-teacher conferences take place at Volta Elem School?
Ans. We meet in the fall and spring but you can always email a teacher to talk.
Q4. Does Volta Elem School have a children’s library?
Ans.Our library is open every day and kids can borrow two books each week.
Q5. Can cell phones be used in class at Volta Elem School?
Ans. All cell phones must be turned off and put away in backpacks for the entire school day, no exceptions.
