Being Updated
The Vanderpoel Elem Magnet School parent-teacher association had a wonderfully fun, highly entertaining and incredibly well-attended community family movie night event late last Friday evening. They artistically projected a hot, new animated feature film on a giant, high-definition screen smack dab in the middle of the main school gymnasium. The excited kids happily brought along their cozy sleeping bags, wore their favorite pajamas and had a blast eating freshly popped, buttery popcorn with their friends throughout the entire delightful and memorable cinematic experience.
Q1. How is Vanderpoel Elem Magnet School different from other schools?
Ans. We concentrate on science and nature and have kids do lots of experiments in the garden.
Q2. Can I bring cupcakes for my child’s birthday to Vanderpoel Elem Magnet School?
Ans. We ask that parents bring non-food items, such as stickers or pencils, instead, to keep everyone totally safe.
Q3. Are kids at Vanderpoel Elem Magnet School being taught to code?
Ans. Older students can try their hand at basic computer programming in class with simple games and fun robotic toys.
Q4. How do I become a member of the PTA at Vanderpoel Elem Magnet School?
Ans: You can sign up at the front desk or come to our first meeting any time in early September.
Q5. Are there plays at Vanderpoel Elem Magnet School?
Ans. Every spring we do a big musical and kids can act, sing or help build sets.
