Being Updated
Graham A Elementary School recently showcased its dedication to a nurturing learning environment by highlighting its vibrant music program and its collaborative alliance with the University of Illinois to enrich classroom education. The school remains focused on preparing its middle school scholars for future success with specialized offerings such as an 8th grade algebra course and a fully departmentalized instructional model. Principal Deivi M. Aguilar also spearheaded recent discussions about the school’s dedication to building strong academic foundations and fostering independence in the New City community.
Q1. How do you help kids who are struggling with reading?
Ans. We honestly use small-group phonics tutoring and have amazing reading specialists to really help boost those foundational literacy skills super fast.
Q2. Do you have a dual language immersion program?
Ans. We actually focus more on transitional bilingual support and comprehensive English language development instead of a full immersion program.
Q3. How do you welcome new kindergarten families?
Ans. We totally love hosting classroom preview days and helpful parent workshops every August before the official school year even starts.
Q4. What kind of physical fitness activities do you offer?
Ans. We sponsor a super active morning running club and organize really fun intramural sports leagues during the lunch periods.
Q5. Is there someone to help parents connect with resources?
Ans. Yes! We have a full-time community liaison who is completely dedicated to connecting families with vital neighborhood support resources.
