Funston Elementary School is being honored as an Honor Roll School and School of Distinction for its dedication to academic growth and student achievement. The school community is celebrating its PK-8 comprehensive bilingual and monolingual academic programs with an emphasis on science inquiry and balanced literacy. In recent years, families and staff have praised the school for its success in fostering a supportive environment.

Ans. We honestly use small-group phonics tutoring and have amazing reading specialists to really help boost those foundational literacy skills super fast.

Q2. Do you have a dual language immersion program?

Ans. We actually focus more on transitional bilingual support and comprehensive English language development instead of a full immersion program.

Q3. How do you welcome new kindergarten families?

Ans. We totally love hosting classroom preview days and helpful parent workshops every August before the official school year even starts.

Q4. What kind of physical fitness activities do you offer?

Ans. We sponsor a super active morning running club and organize really fun intramural sports leagues during the lunch periods.

Q5. Is there someone to help parents connect with resources?

Ans. Yes! We have a full-time community liaison who is completely dedicated to connecting families with vital neighborhood support resources.
