CICS West Belden Campus recently celebrated its 20th anniversary with a community block party with games and prizes. The school also was awarded a grant from the Lollapalooza Arts Education Fund, which allowed for a songwriting residency for students in grades 5-8, in partnership with the Old Town School of Folk Music. The campus was also a finalist for the 2022 Golden Apple Award and earned a “Commendable” school rating from recent performance results.
Q1. What time does CICS West Belden open and close each day?
Ans. School begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. Early drop-off is available beginning at 7:50 a.m.
Q2. What is CICS West Belden’s policy on student grades on report cards?
Ans. The school uses a standards-based grading system, not letter grades, to communicate academic progress and mastery.
Q3. What technology do the students get at CICS West Belden?
Ans. The campus is 1:1 with iPads in K-5 and Chromebooks in 6-8.
Q4. Are there any specialized arts programs at the school?
Ans. Yes, through a unique partnership with the Old Town School of Folk Music, students in grades 5-8 participate in a songwriting residency.
Q5. Do you have any after school programs at the campus?
Ans. After-school hours are available from 3:30 P.M. to 5:45 P.M. for families that need extended care.
