Acero Charter School - Bartolomé de Las Casas Campus has been in the news for all the right reasons lately after the Chicago Board of Education confirmed the school would remain open for the 2025-2026 academic year. The campus is also setting itself up to become a district-managed Chicago Public School beginning in 2026, to give the Pilsen community long-term educational stability. The school is also continuing to improve its bilingual education programs through the “Bilingual Brillante” initiative created in partnership with the University of Illinois Chicago.
