The Oak Ridge School has taken a big step forward in expanding career readiness programs through the Career Pathways Program, a partnership with the Oak Ridge Breakfast Rotary. The program links at-risk students with professional mentors and local nonprofit organizations for paid, 10-week work experiences. These placements, like those with the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge and Habitat for Humanity, are meant to build hands-on job skills, professional discipline and personal confidence. The school is expanding its STEM offerings through the SeaPerch aquatic robotics program and the iSchool initiative, which brings a $1.4 million grant to provide state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and internships with local engineering firms.
