Giant City Elementary School recently held its first school spelling bee in at least 25 years. Sixteen students won their classroom spelling bees to qualify and four advanced to the regional competition. The event was an opportunity for students to display focus, confidence and word knowledge in front of the school community. The celebration for Giant City families was a symbol of student achievement, academic spirit and a positive return of a tradition that brought energy to the campus.
