Belleville High School-West track and field athlete TJ Cason received some big recognition, after breaking the school long jump record at the O'Fallon Boys Relays. Cason hit a monster jump of 23 feet 9 inches (7.24 meters), breaking the Belleville West record. The performance was in memory of his late mother, making the achievement all the more special. It was a track and field season that displayed both athletic excellence and personal resilience.
