Being Updated
Henry W Cowherd Middle School is a very exciting place to be! On January 5, 2026, the school welcomed students back. This was a fresh start for the new year. The 8th grade boys' basketball team had a great start to their season, and the school is getting ready for things like Coffee with the Principal on November 19, 2025. The East Aurora School District 131, which includes Cowherd Middle School, has also come up with a new five-year plan. This plan is all about keeping kids safe and helping them do well in school.
Q1. How does Cowherd Middle School help kids learn to think for themselves?
Ans. Students do research projects, problem-solving tasks, and lessons where they work together to get better at thinking analytically and creatively.
Q2. What Cowherd programs help kids come up with new ideas?
Ans. Students can learn new creative things and improve their artistic skills in classes like music, theater, writing, and visual arts.
Q3. What does the school do to help kids stay healthy?
Ans. Students learn to deal with stress and become more emotionally strong through counseling, wellness workshops, and mindfulness practices.
Q4. Are there chances for students to lead?
Ans. Joining a student council, working on a team project, or taking a public speaking class are all great ways to gain confidence and learn how to be responsible.
Q5. How does Cowherd Middle School get along with the people who live nearby?
Ans. Volunteering, working with local groups, and getting families involved in programs are all good ways for people to get involved in their communities in a meaningful way.
