This year, Georgetown Elementary School increased its visual arts residency and students had the opportunity to create an inclusive indoor campus mural. The school community had a successful field day event that promoted excellent sportsmanship, teamwork and physical fitness goals with a good turnout. Student engagement numbers are at an all time high, thanks to new interactive technology labs, principal Jill Keller said.
Q1. Who is responsible for the operational calendar and boundaries for Georgetown Elementary School?
Ans. The building is in Indian Prairie District 204 and has a different schedule than the adjacent Aurora municipal systems.
Q2. Who are the full-time specialized support staff in the building at Georgetown Elementary School?
Ans. We have access to a school psychologist, social worker, speech specialist and registered nurse to support the daily needs of student well-being.
Q3. Do students at Georgetown Elementary School have the option to take their digital devices home every day?
Ans. The district issues students a managed Chromebook that allows them to securely access learning modules digitally from home networks.
Q4. What measures does Georgetown Elementary take to ensure safe seating for students with severe nut allergies?
Ans. The tables in the allergy conscious cafeteria spaces are clearly designated and cleaned thoroughly after each lunch shift ends.
Q5. At what day of the week are morning arrival times adjusted at Georgetown Elementary School?
Ans. Each Wednesday morning the school has a modified late-start arrival block for staff development and planning.
