East Aurora School District 131 serves approximately 12,080 K–12 students (about 5,000 in elementary) with a 16:1 student–teacher ratio and 98% minority enrollment during the 2023–24 school year. While English Language Arts proficiency improved to 17.5%, math proficiency remains low at 6.9% on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness. To boost outcomes, the district is using MAP testing data to refine reading interventions in grades K–5 and adding targeted math support, especially at underperforming schools.
