Mollie Ray Elementary's leadership team of Master Principal Melanie Simmons and Assistant Principal LaQuanda Fedrick entered the current school year with a commitment to the "Knowledge is Power" mission that defines the Pine Hills campus. The school participated in OCPS's Black History Month celebration and the Let's Read district reading challenge. With a math proficiency of 52%, the school has continued to build academic strength in a community where 98% of students are minority.
