Latest News

At the May 2025 meeting of the New Britain School Board, district leaders shared good news: Jefferson Elementary's early-grade reading scores have gotten better. The number of students in the "emergency reading" category has gone down, and more than 52% of students are now good readers. The school also saw a big drop in office referrals, which the principal says is because they hired a social worker in late 2024 and made social-emotional learning practices stronger.
