Being Updated
Q1. How does Rawson School involve families in students’ daily experiences?
Ans. Rawson pulls in the parents to such events as “A Day in the Life as a Rawson Student,” where the families get to come and see the atmosphere of the classrooms, a thing that helps them both get the routines and support learning in the home.
Q2. What is Rawson’s approach to improving student attendance?
Ans. Rawson communicates local campaigns such as “Arts for Attendance” and family workshops on lessening chronic absenteeism, stressing that being at school on a regular basis is the main thing not only for academic progress but also for acquiring social skills.
Q3. How can families participate in school decision-making at Rawson?
Ans. Families have the opportunity to be on the School Governance Council and participate in district-wide leadership sessions, where they work with staff as well as community partners on school priorities and creating plans for improvement.
Q4. How does Rawson support students who are new to a grade or school level?
Ans. Rawson is involved in the moment of change days when the year is just starting and new students are given a chance to walk around the building, meet staff, and go over the rules before the rest of the student body comes.
Q5. How are Rawson families kept updated about school and district events?
Ans. Through the live feed and news posts, families of the school can be kept up-to-date with the happenings of the board meetings, community forums, and school activities, which are regularly shared, and thus, it becomes easier to be ????????????????informed.
