Greenwich's finance board has given the go-ahead for $325,000 to be spent on designing repairs for the Hamilton Avenue School's geothermal HVAC system, which broke down in 2023.
Alexandra Lage will also be the new assistant principal starting in August 2025. She is praised for her work in early literacy and creating fun, welcoming school environments.
Q1. What kind of model does Hamilton Avenue School use to teach?
Ans. Students at this STEAM magnet school learn by doing projects and asking questions in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.

Ans. The HAS PTA supports school events, fundraisers, and activities that bring people together in the community. You can get involved through the PTA.
Q3. What are the rules for dropping off and picking up?
Ans. The school's Parent Handbook and Registration page has information about attendance, drop-off, pick-up, and emergency procedures.
Q4. What will happen if the geothermal HVAC system breaks down again?
Ans. Greenwich officials are looking into repairs or replacements because of past geothermal problems, and the school is actively talking about long-term HVAC solutions.
Q5. How does Hamilton Avenue help students learn in different ways?
Ans. The school gives students a personalized learning environment where they can ask questions, try things out, and use what they've learned in real life.
