Hygiene Elementary School is located at 11968 N. 75th Street in Longmont in a suburban-residential area. They serve students from grades PK-5 and enrolls approximately 316 students with a student-teacher ratio of 16:1. In math, 72% of students reached the proficient level or higher, while in reading, 72% achieved that level or above. The student population is made up of 45% female students and 55% male students. Hygiene?????????? Elementary is a community-focused and student-centered school where the staff use engaging and creative methods through STEAM based instruction, inquiry and a strong focus on the student’s growth.
Without a doubt, one of the most noticeable points of Hygiene Elementary is its characterization as a STEAM Focus School and the winner of such awards as the John Irwin School of Excellence and the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award. Hygiene Elementary School held its general PTO meeting on Tuesday, November 8. Special guests from Westview and Lyons Middle Schools attended to share updates and insights.
Q1. How does Hygiene Elementary promote character development?
Ans. Hygiene Cares program through social interactions in the classrooms inculcates respect, kindness, and responsibility in students.
Q2. How are parents involved in school life?
Ans. Parents are given the opportunity to partake in volunteering, being present in assemblies, and participating in school events that focus on student learning and creativity.
Q3. How does Hygiene Elementary approach technology use?
Ans. With the supervision of a teacher, students are allowed to utilize digital tools in an appropriate manner and also they are given lessons on internet safety and good digital citizenship.
Q4. How does the school support student wellness?
Ans. Wellness is maintained through a nutritious meal plan, fun activities at the break of the day and, provision of counseling services that help establish student’s emotional balance and positivity.
Q5. How are students rewarded for good behavior?
Ans. Children get the opportunity to be recognized as "HygieneHeroes" and to be given awards for demonstrating ethical behavior, respect, and ??????????resilience.
