Zach Elementary School is a wonderful magnet public school that serves grades K-5. Zach is built on the Core Knowledge model that emphasizes learning through hands-on methods in subjects like literature, history, and science. Research into the last several years has found that Zach consistently scores very high above the state averages, with 87% reading proficiency and 77% in math. Each Zach teacher serves around 16-17 students, which helps them create small groups and ensure individualized instruction. Zach focuses on respect and responsibility, and encourages student ownership through the ROAR framework (Respect, Ownership, Achievement, Responsibility). The school believes it is important to engage and encourage families to be involved through events, volunteering, etc. It is no wonder Zach Elementary School has been frequently listed among the best elementary schools in Colorado.
