Van Arsdale Elementary (formerly Jefferson County R-1) is a Pre-K through 5th-grade school that serves approximately 449-479 students. The school has been reported to have an approximate student-to-teacher ratio of about 17:1 with about 25-28 full-time teachers who are all regularly certified. The average percentage of students proficient on state assessments is approximately 55%-59% for math and 55%-59% for reading/language arts. This is significantly above the state average.
