Ans. Woodlake Elementary Community Charter provides an extensive array of art programs such as fine arts, choral music, instrumental music, theatre, and gardening as verified on the school’s website. Additionally, the school provides an up-to-date computer lab that supports technology integration with its programs. The PTSA is heavily involved in financially supporting and sustaining the school’s enrichment programs and continues to be a very active part of the community.

Ans. Woodlake Elementary Community Charter has one of the most community-oriented PTSAs at any of the Woodland Hills LAUSD charter schools. The PTSA engages in numerous ways throughout the year by providing fundraising and community events, purchases of spirit wear, and developing programs for parents to volunteer. Due to the PTSA’s involvement in various aspects of the school, many parents have commented on the strong culture of the school and overall community through parents’ reviews.
Q3. Is Woodlake an Advanced Studies School?
Ans. Woodlake is an Advanced Studies School. Every Child at Woodlake receives an advanced level of education regardless if he/she has been identified as a gifted and talented student. With this district designation of Advanced Studies School, Woodlake uses a SAS implementation model that provides for the development of critical thinking and creative problem solving from kindergarten through 5th grade. Parents can obtain their child’s Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) id through the normal GATE identification process.
Qns. What Kind of After School Programs are Offered at Woodlake Elementary?
A4. Woodlake has many different after school enrichment classes available on campus from several providers such as the YMCA, Got Game, Parker Anderson and LA’s Best. Some classes are free and others have a fee. Families can check for updated information regarding after school programs at woodlakeces.lausd.org or call (818) 347-7097 at the school office.
Q5. What Communication Methods Does Woodlake Use with Families?
Ans. The official communication methods used by Woodlake are LAUSD’s official communication channels; school website at woodlakeces.lausd.org and LAUSD Parent Portal to access grades and attendance. In addition to this, the active communication done by PTSA through email and social media has proven to be beneficial in communication to the Parents and Families.
