See top schools in WatsonvilleAmesti Elementary is a public school in Watsonville, California, that is part of the Pajaro Valley Unified School District and serves students in grades K–5. The school has about 420 to 430 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 18 to 1, which is a little lower than the California average. About 8% of students meet math standards, and about 5% meet English Language Arts standards. The amount of money spent on each student is about the same as the average for the district, which is usually between $14,000 and $16,000 a year. Amesti Elementary is in a close-knit farming community where home prices are higher than the state average. The school continues to focus on academic growth and student support in a diverse learning environment.

Being Updated
Recent events in the community showed that people in the Pajaro Valley Unified School District really care about making students' lives better. In November, the district teamed up with Free Guitars 4 Kids and local arts groups to give 120 students, some of whom went to Amesti Elementary, free guitars and more chances to learn music. The goal was to help kids become more creative and confident through the arts.
