Walnut Heights Elementary is using its new "High Heights" incentive program for the spring semester to stress how important it is for students to come to school every day. The campus recently added new percussion instruments to its music program to give students more chances to be creative. The school is also looking for parent volunteers for the Spring Carnival, which is the biggest community-building event of the year.
Q1. What is the attendance program called "High Heights" at Walnut Heights Elementary?
Ans. This program rewards students who come to class on time and regularly to show that attendance is important for academic success.
Q2. Does Walnut Heights Elementary School have a carnival in the spring?
Ans. The school has a big Spring Carnival every year that is the main way for the community to come together and raise money.
Q3. What are the plans for the music program at Walnut Heights Elementary to grow?
Ans. The school recently got new percussion instruments so that students could have more chances to be creative and practice their rhythm.
Q4. Does Walnut Heights Elementary have a separate room for science?
Ans. A specialized classroom has tools for hands-on experiments that fit with the Next Generation Science Standards curriculum.
Q5: How can parents be a part of the Walnut Heights Elementary School Site Council?
Ans. Parents are welcome to run for council seats to help the principal set academic goals for the school.
