Murwood Elementary is showing off its students' creativity through its recent "Design Thinking" workshop, where students came up with creative ways to solve problems in the classroom. This month, the school community is taking part in the district's "Green Schools" program by starting a new composting program on all of its campuses. On Wednesdays, teachers are working together to improve their teaching methods for the last trimester of the school year.
Q1. What are the "Design Thinking" workshops at Murwood Elementary?
Ans. Every day, students come up with creative ways to solve problems in the classroom using a framework that focuses on innovation to help them improve their critical thinking skills.
Q2. Is there a composting program at Murwood Elementary?
Ans. As part of the district's goals, the school has a composting program that covers the whole campus. This is meant to encourage environmental stewardship and cut down on waste.
Q3. How do the teachers at Murwood Elementary work together to teach?
Ans. Staff use modified Wednesdays to improve their teaching methods and look at student data for the last academic trimester.
Q4. What is the tradition of school spirit at Murwood Elementary?
Ans. Every Friday is a spirit day when students wear school shirts to show their pride in the campus.
Q5. Is there a physical education teacher at Murwood Elementary?
Ans. Every week, certified teachers lead sessions for all grade levels that focus on motor development and building healthy habits for life.
