Buena Vista Elementary is situated at 2355 San Juan Avenue in the Buena Vista neighborhood. It serves an enrollment of 412 students in grades K-5. The student–teacher ratio is 24:1, and 51% of the students are male and 49% are female. Reading and math skills are both at 76%. The campus has a very focused and academic atmosphere that helps students grow. Students are urged to follow routines to maximize their time in the building. There is a sense of order in both the common areas and the individual workspaces. Daily, the administrative team ensures all grades run smoothly. Staff work hard to make students feel accepted and respected. The building layout facilitates all main grade activities. The cost of housing in the area ranges from $980,000 to $1,650,000. This March, students at Buena Vista Elementary are celebrating Read Across America Week with a number of guest reader events and school-wide literacy challenges. The campus recently held a successful "Bulldog Spirit" event to celebrate the accomplishments of students and the involvement of the community. The next School Site Council meeting is on March 18, and parents are welcome to come and talk about the budget and safety plans for the site for the years 2026–2027.
