Alamosa Park Elementary has expanded its Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program to include 5th grade for the current 2025-2026 school year, completing the TK-5 continuum. Principal Ruggles is hosting a series of "Mornings with the Principal" meetings through April 2026 to discuss school goals and community feedback.
Q1. Do all of the kids at Alamosa Park Elementary get free breakfast and lunch?
Ans. Yes, every day all the students at this school get free, healthy breakfasts and lunches.
Q2. Does the Alamosa Park DLI program have a certain way of teaching language immersion?
Ans. The school uses a 90/10 one-way immersion model, which means that the number of English lessons keeps going up until they are equal to 50/50.
Q3. Can students at Alamosa Park Elementary get a language certification that the state recognizes?
Ans. Students on the dual language path get ready to get the California State Seal of Biliteracy in high school.
Q4. Are there any special ways for people with disabilities to get around at Alamosa Park Elementary?
Ans. There are entrances and parking spaces at the school that are accessible to people in wheelchairs, so everyone in the community can safely get to the site.
Q5: How can parents at Alamosa Park Elementary tell someone about safety or bullying problems without giving their names?
Ans. Families can use the "Psst World" online portal to send the school administration private safety tips.
