Being Updated
All of Poinsettia Elementary's classes use Project-Based Learning (PBL) to help students solve problems in the real world. The school recently had a field day where students, staff, and volunteers all got together to do physical education activities. The administration is keeping the School Site Council up to date on the most recent enrollment data that is important for the district's long-term planning.
Q1. How do you tell Poinsettia Elementary that you won't be there?
Ans. Parents must call the school office or use the ParentSquare app to let them know their child is going to be absent before 9:00 AM on the day of the absence.
Q2. Does Poinsettia Elementary have a STEM lab just for that?
Ans. The school has a STEM space where students can work together on science and engineering projects all year long.
Q3. How does Poinsettia deal with food allergies at lunchtime?
Ans. To keep students with documented medical dietary restrictions safe, the cafeteria staff follows strict safety rules and keeps areas free of allergens.
Q4. Is there a chance to play instrumental music at Poinsettia?
Ans. Students in grades 4 and 5 can join the band or strings and play in concerts and performances all over the district.
Q5. What does Poinsettia's "Panther" recognition program do?
Ans. This program gives out monthly awards during school-wide assemblies and morning announcements to honor students who do well in school and show good character.
