Being Updated
On September 2025, Oak Manor Elementary School became Ukiah Unified most improved attendance school, achieving an overall attendance rate of 94.6%, more than 2 percentage points greater than prior year’s rate. An increase in overall attendance demonstrates that students are more engaged in the school and that a positive change has occurred in the culture of the campus, especially with improved academic success. This recognition for improved attendance was made public during the monthly Students of the Month ceremony held at Ukiah High School.
Q1.What kind of new programs has Oak Manor received for 2024–25?
Ans. As part of the Ukiah Unified School District’s expansion program for early childhood education, two additional Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten classrooms are being added to Oak Manor as of the 2024–25 school year. The addition of these classrooms is an example of the commitment the district has to supporting early childhood development, and they also will help Oak Manor meet California’s Universal Pre-Kindergarten program requirements.
Q2. Is there a Gifted and Talented Education program at Oak Manor?
Ans. Yes! Oak Manor Elementary does provide a Gifted and Talented Education program. The identification process for students occurs through a formal process of assessment data and teacher referral. The identification process can be started by families who think their child may qualify by contacting their child’s teacher or the school office.
Q3. How will Oak Manor and UUSD work together to address its low proficiency rates?
Ans. Oak Manor will be part of the Ukiah Unified School District’s strategic plan for the 2024-25 school year that focuses on the following three areas of improvement: First-best instructions, and Multi-trailed (as a support) and aligned curriculum. Since Oak Manor is a Title I school, it will also receive federal funding throughout this process to provide academic intervention and support services to students who are not performing at grade level.
Q4. What are the afterschool options at Oak Manor Elementary School?
Ans. Oak Manor has an afterschool program called Ukiah Unified After School Education/ Safety that offers supervised academic and enrichment activities after the school day has ended. To confirm possible enrollees and hours, please contact the school office.
Q5. How can families register their child for Oak Manor Elementary School?
Ans. The Oak Manor Elementary School enrollment is boundary based/Ukiah Unified School District. Families who live in the Oak Manor boundary area register for their children to attend through the District's enrollment office. New students will need to provide documents of residency, immunizations, and educational records. Those families not living within the Oak Manor school boundary may inquire for options for interdistrict transfers from the District office.
