The California Department of Education officially named Friendly Hills Elementary a 2025 California Distinguished School because of how well its students do in school. Recently, the school's Board of Education met on campus and gave Principal Lisa Roach a special Certificate of Appreciation for this prestigious honor. Families and parents are also taking part in a survey across the district to give their thoughts on the Local Control and Accountability Plan for the next school year.
Q1. Are there any clubs at Friendly Hills Elementary for coding or robotics?
Ans. There is an after-school technology club at the school where kids can learn about basic computer programming and simple engineering tasks.
Q2. What does Friendly Hills Elementary do to keep kids safe from the heat of the desert during recess?
Ans. When the weather outside gets too hot, students go to the climate-controlled multipurpose room for indoor activities.
Q3. Does Friendly Hills Elementary School have a science fair every year?
Ans. During the spring STEM night, students are encouraged to show off their scientific inquiry skills by doing original experiments.
Q4. What kinds of music classes does Friendly Hills Elementary offer?
Ans. During regular school hours, upper-grade students take part in weekly band or choir sessions led by district music specialists.
Q5. Is there a place at Friendly Hills Elementary where you can find lost things?
Ans. Parents can look in the labeled bins near the cafeteria to find jackets, water bottles, and other things that are missing.
