Being Updated
Cypress Elementary School was the first school to get an official "B" rating this year. The staff and families were happy about this success because it showed how hard the students worked to keep their grades up. The school will have a new principal starting in the 2024–2025 school year. Their main goals are to help parents and teachers work together and to give kids more emotional and social support. Students at Falcons are still doing well in the "Leader in Me" program, where they set and reach very important personal goals.
Q1. What kinds of shoes are not allowed at Cypress Elementary?
Ans. During regular school hours, students can't wear flip-flops, backless shoes, high heels, or cleats for safety reasons.
Q2. Are there any reading intervention programs at Cypress Elementary that are only for certain students?
Ans. The school uses a "Walk to Intervention" model to give reading support to students of all levels.
Q3. Does Cypress Elementary School offer any extra visual arts classes during the school day?
Ans. Students take part in arts activities that are combined with other subjects and can show off their work at district-level festivals and events.
Q4. How can parents help out at Cypress Elementary?
Ans. Parents who want to help in the classroom or on field trips must fill out a district volunteer application and have their background checked.
Q5. Does Cypress Elementary have a specific rule about how students can use their cell phones?
Ans. To keep kids from being distracted in class and socially, cell phones must be turned off and put away during school hours.
