Walteria Elementary is a public elementary school in Torrance that serves grades K–5. It has about 660 students and a student–teacher ratio of about 25 to 1. The school has a lot of different kinds of students and is known for being a welcoming place to learn and for having a strong academic focus. Small-group instruction and targeted interventions help with teaching that focuses on building literacy, understanding math concepts and critical thinking. Walteria Elementary also gets students involved by giving them extra activities, group projects and programs that help them develop healthy connections with others.
