Riviera Elementary is a public school in Torrance for students in grades K–5. About 610 students are studying there and there is one teacher for every 24 students. The school serves a wide range of students and focuses on both social and academic growth. Core instruction focuses on reading, writing, math and critical thinking with extra activities and working together in the classroom to help. This is a good level of academic performance because about 75% of students are good at math and 76% are good at reading. Teachers use data-driven instruction and a variety of methods to help students with all kinds of learning needs. The school has a positive campus culture that values student achievement and well-being and parents are involved. Riviera Elementary is a public school, so it gets regular funding from the state and local governments. Riviera Elementary has consistently high academic performance and provides a structured, supportive environment for elementary school, making it one of the best schools in California.
