Ladera STARS Academy is located at 1211 Calle De Oro in the north Thousand Oaks area. It serves 326 students in grades K-5. The student–teacher ratio is 19:1. Math proficiency is 62% and reading proficiency is 67%. The gender mix is 45% female and 55% male.The school is focused on academics and encourages students to use new ways to solve problems. The school keeps students interested in their different subjects all year by using a thematic approach. The layout of the classroom makes it easy for students to work alone or talk with each other in groups. Every lesson plan that the faculty gives stresses how important it is to think critically. Most homes in the area cost between $850,000 and $1,350,000. Families in the area like how the school gets their kids ready for the challenges of middle school. This school is one of the best elementary schools in California because it always does well and focuses on teaching in a specific way.

In December 2025, Ladera STARS Academy celebrated Inclusive Schools Week by having students make sidewalk chalk art and a wall of compliments to spread good vibes. Recently, the school's second graders "made history" by taking part in a special educational event that combined leadership and local history. The school is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 school year. They also want to remind all families that students must still wear uniforms to "dress for success."
