Being Updated
In December 2025, Ladera STARS Academy celebrated Inclusive Schools Week by having students make sidewalk chalk art and a wall of compliments to spread good vibes. Recently, the school's second graders "made history" by taking part in a special educational event that combined leadership and local history. The school is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 school year. They also want to remind all families that students must still wear uniforms to "dress for success."
Q1. Does the acronym "STARS" at Ladera STARS Academy stand for a certain set of classes?
Ans. Yes, it stands for Science, Technology, Arts, and Rigorous Studies, which is the main focus of the school's magnet program.
Q2. Is there a separate maker space at Ladera STARS Academy for students to work on their projects?
Ans. There is a special lab on campus with tools for coding, building, and engineering that support the STEAM curriculum.
Q3. Do all students at Ladera STARS Academy have to wear uniforms?
Ans. The school has a "dress for success" policy that says all students must wear certain colored polo shirts and pants.
Q4. Does Ladera STARS Academy take part in robotics contests in the area?
Ans. Students can join the robotics club and compete with other schools in the area in local events.
Q5. How does Ladera STARS Academy use the arts in science class?
Ans. Teachers use an integrated approach that uses the visual and performing arts to show how complicated math and science ideas work.
