Being Updated
The BRIDGES Charter School Board has approved a new salary schedule for the 2025–2026 school year. It includes a 2% cost of living increase for staff. Kelly Simon, the school's executive director, is still in charge after being chosen to lead the school in the middle of 2023. The school also took part in the 32nd Annual Thousand Oaks Rotary Street Fair not long ago to tell people in the area about their community.
Q1. Does BRIDGES Charter have a special application process for new students to enroll?
Ans. The school uses a public lottery system to choose students if there are more applicants than there are seats in the classroom.
Q2. What special outdoor learning areas does BRIDGES Charter have?
Ans. There are special garden plots and outdoor classrooms on campus where students can learn about environmental science and study nature up close.
Q3. Does the district provide transportation for students who go to BRIDGES Charter?
Ans. Parents are usually in charge of transportation, but the school's parent community often sets up carpooling groups.
Q4. How does BRIDGES Charter include art in the daily middle school curriculum?
Art is taught as part of core subjects and as a separate elective to help students develop their creative and technical skills.
Q5. Does BRIDGES Charter have set hours for parents to help out?
Ans. Families are not required to volunteer, but the school strongly encourages them to do so to help create a collaborative learning environment.
