Recently, students at Waterloo Elementary finished engineering projects that were useful and covered a range of grade levels. Fifth graders made gingerbread villages to help them understand volume, and eighth graders launched bottle rockets as part of their schoolwork. The activities included real-world design problems in math and science classes to make the learning objectives more useful.
