Being Updated
The lottery for the 2026–2027 school year at Vista Elementary took place on January 20. The school is still one of the district's most popular Fundamental schools. The school doesn't have a Transitional Kindergarten program on-site because it wants to keep things structured. Families who won the lottery and are new have until February 6 to send back their acceptance papers.
Q1. Do students at Vista Elementary need to fill out a separate application from the regular district enrollment?
Ans. Families must fill out a special application for Fundamental School and enter a lottery because the school is specialized.
Q2. How does Vista Elementary handle homework differently than other schools?
Ans. As a Fundamental school, Vista stresses daily homework assignments that are the same every day to help students learn in class and develop good study habits.
Q3. Are cell phones or other personal electronic devices allowed at Vista Elementary?
Ans: To keep the classroom less distracting, students must keep their personal devices off and in their backpacks during the school day.
Q4. Do parents and teachers have to meet at Vista Elementary?
Ans. To make sure parents know everything about their child's academic progress, the school holds formal conferences twice a year.
Q5. Does Vista Elementary have any special choir or vocal music groups?
Ans. Upper-grade students can try out for the school choir, which sings at school events and holiday events in the community.
Note: Schedules may change during school holidays. Please contact School for exact Schedule.
