Gravenstein Elementary School is located at 3840 Twig Avenue in central Sebastopol. It serves 452 students in grades 3–5. The student–teacher ratio is 19:1. Math proficiency is 66% and reading proficiency is 68%. The gender mix is 51% female and 49% male. The school has high academic standards for all students and is a challenging place to learn. Administrators make sure that the campus stays neat and is good for learning in upper elementary school. Shared spaces are used for group projects and supervised breaks for students. Gravenstein Elementary School is now taking applications for its "Summer Jumpstart" program. This program is part of the 2026 Extended Learning Opportunities Program. The school recently threw a party to welcome back fourth graders who had been camping in Gold Country for a few days at old mining sites. On March 10, 2026, the Board of Education will hold a meeting for the public to talk about the budget for 2026–2027 and the plans for the district for the next year.
