Glen City Elementary recently held community circles with help from Santa Paula High School to help students get to know each other better. Parents are welcome to come to Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) meetings at the school to help set school goals. In addition, the Santa Paula Optimist Club honored the Grizzly basketball teams for their great sportsmanship and spirit.
Q1. Is there a counselor at Glen City Elementary School who can help students with their social and emotional health?
Ans. A full-time counselor helps students learn how to deal with problems and make friends by giving them small group sessions and one-on-one help.
Q2. What kinds of tech tools do students at Glen City Elementary School use?
Ans. Every student gets a Chromebook from the district so they can do digital homework and access interactive lessons in all subjects.
Q3. Does Glen City Elementary School have any festivals or family engagement nights every year?
Ans. To help people get to know each other better, the school puts on a number of evening events, such as Literacy Night and the Spring Carnival.
Q4. How does Glen City Elementary School's cafeteria handle students' allergies during lunch?
Ans. The health office keeps a list of restricted diets and works with nutrition services to make sure that there are safe meal options.
Q5. Do fifth graders at Glen City Elementary School have any chances to be leaders?
Ans. Students in higher grades can apply to be Grizzly Peer Mediators, which means they help younger students settle small fights on the playground in a peaceful way.
